So I am now 6 months into my low carb and high fat food intake lifestyle and while I have some moments when I feel like I can’t stay with it, ultimately I find that it is rather easy since the scale needle keeps falling down n the right direction. The good news for me is that I am not a big fan of sweet treats which helps a ton!
Progress and Test Results
I do manage to take a multi vitamin everyday, well let’s call it 80% of the time, and that seems to offset the items that I have removed from my dietary intake. My recent doctors blood evaluation showed that I was well within the normal ranges for all of the key markers.
I have managed to find some great alternatives to things missing from my diet like pasta and sauces. There are some great fake pasta noodles that are both filling and not too bad from a texture perspective that you can add for almost zero carbs and 10-20 calories. I add either soy sauce or pesto sauce mixes to make a decent tasting low carb and low calorie filling snack.
As I get older I have noticed that I need to also be concerned with the actual calorie intake regardless of the low amount of carbs in my diet. This was not the case 5 years ago when I did this diet previously. At that time i could eat whatever i wanted if it was low carb regardless of calories.
